The museum is centered around the former Lenox College. The beautiful campus and buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places in America. The centerpiece of the campus is the Civil War Monument. The campus was home to the “School-Boy Company”, which, with the college president, enlisted en masse in the Civil War. 92 students enlisted and 27 gave their lives.
